About Interviews

The STAR interview method is a behavioral interviewing technique that is commonly used by employers to assess job candidates during the interview process. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result, and this method requires job candidates to provide specific examples from their past work experiences that illustrate how they handled challenging situations.

In a STAR interview, the interviewer will ask the candidate to describe a specific situation or task that they were faced with in a previous job, the actions they took to address the situation or complete the task, and the results of their actions. By using this method, the interviewer can gain insight into the candidate's problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and their overall performance in past roles.

I prefer a modified The STARE method - STARE stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result and Education ( what did you learn from this experience). This is a structured approach that allows interviewers to evaluate candidates objectively and consistently, and it provides candidates with an opportunity to showcase their skills, accomplishments and learnings in a clear and concise manner.
